8-point Front and Square Handball

Purpose
This drill teaches players to make correct position front and square to make a handball as easy as possible for their teammate. If they are in the wrong position or leave too early, the handball will be prone to error.

    (A) runs the ball then handballs long to (B) who remains on the cone

  • Step 2

    (B) handballs to (C) who has worked front and square of (B)
    (C) should be on the move towards (D), but not leave too early so they are past (B)

  • Step 3

    (C) runs the ball and handballs long to (D) on the cone

  • Step 4

    (D) handballs to (E) who has worked front and square
    (E) should be on the move towards (F), but not leave too early so they are past (D)

  • Step 5

    The drill continues in this fashion around the square
